I've always bought for cash too which is why, until recently, I've always had old second hand Saabs because they are big (needed a car that can fit my bass rig), comfy and fast.

If sir, you mean Sawney, then a passenger he has been.
The one you mean, is Sawney Beane.

He flagged me down one mean lit night
On the road from Edinburgh, that meanders right.
There first i did sight his terrible gizzards
At first i took fright; his weathered fingers flagged me to linger
Roadside to a stop, i felt his eyes fingered.

' i sir - have done ill - this very night' he exclaimed
Before mounting my carriage before id arranged
The sense to flee: before i knew, Sawney sat next me.

'To town and swain, let us ruin and claim'
Sawney said, and has ridden my side since
Sawney & i
The carriage of the dead.

Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
For several years now i have driven a horsed hansom cab, of the finest kind. Oh - but if you could see its upholstery, of the finest leatherwork, surrounded by a wooden carriaged chassis crafted by the finest proponents of the carpenters art in all of england.

There are those who say that the combustion engine driven carriages lately come from america - the so called cars - will replace this perfect meld of animal energy and human artisanship. I say pah to this - the machine shall ne'er replace the handsome gallop of the horse borne carriage.

I myself have two nags - Claut and Hortense. Two brake horse power and a bag of nosegay is all we need. You will find the apparition of us, undulating and clip clopping along each and every country road the land wide, before the age of the horse borne carriage gave way and died.

Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
I got a PCP on a 325 M Sport that was at the time 4 years old 4 years ago.

No deposit, £250 a month (I was moving from my own company funded Audi A5 at £650 a month off the forecourt as I was going freehand to PAYE) which was a touch so I signed up.

10k miles a year, pay the agreed purchase price balance at the end and jobs a good ‘un.

I’m at the end of the deal in July and I’m 10-15k over I think on miles and the cunts want the list price balance as at four years ago for me to keep it.

I’m sending it back and expecting £1,500 for miles and wear just to get them to take it away.

They will legit try and make me see the difference between the money I’ve paid to date and the list price back then. Other than the mileage they can fuck off.

Bruuno is right in that it’s a house of cards, it’s the next mortgage crisis and PPI scandal rolled in to one.

For my car now at 10k they want over £500 a month so they’re cottoning on.

I’ve got £5k and going for an old X5 in the summer, fuck PCP

I agree with that. I’m in the industry and it’s all a pack of cards

I only buy a car that I can pay for in cash. Which is why I drive a 2003 golf. I love it, it’s called the paki wagon because I bought it off a paki

Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
Tried to return my last lease car - a Nissan skyline with the full MX middle agef man in crisis package - and they used the old ' sir there are remains of a fox all up inside the wheel arch and fox entrails coating the axles like bovril'.

Wankers done me for the damage and 'fox wear and tear' clause which cost me a monkey.

In fairness though i had run Basil Brush - the TV fox puppet from channel 4 - over the night before. He rolled onto my bonnet and popped under my wheels like a bursting sack of furry mince.

As i left the lease place in my new Fiesta Boofalo SUV the cheeky cunt shouted out ' boom boom'

Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
Crassus,
I agree I've heard all sorts of horror stories people attempting to return leased cars.
Slightly over mileage, scuffed wheels, marked leather seats the list goes on.
The deals sounds brilliant but they're not.
In my humble buy something outright and own it.

Crassus 1:51 Fri Apr 19
Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
Rusta
Do you want to own or use?
And how long do you want to be in the car?
And of course are you wanting standard cars or exotica?

As an example, Mrs C wants a new car, it will likely be a premium standard but off normal spec. So a soft top, auto, semi premium marque, small car. We will buy it. No likely PCP value in her deal and she does low miles so will run it beyond three years

If it were a regular body, manual of the same model I would likely have a better PCP deal

The PCP thing works well upon standard specs
